Hello everyone,
I wanted to discuss the recent update from Microsoft regarding the transition of Power BI file formats from PBIX to PBIR. This change has raised some questions, especially regarding its applicability to GCC (Government Community Cloud) customers.
Could anyone provide clarity on whether this format change will affect GCC users as well? Are there any specific considerations or guidelines that we should be aware of?
Thank you for your insights!
Best,
Roma

Hi @romae
Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Fabric community forum.
The transition from PBIX to PBIR as the default report format will apply to Government Community Cloud (GCC) environments as well, but only when the feature reaches General Availability (GA). Currently, during the preview phase, some settings such as the option to enable or disable PBIR may not be available in GCC tenants. Once GA is announced, PBIR will become the standard format for new reports in GCC, while PBIX will remain supported for compatibility.
