Changing Data type in Edit Queries or Modeling

Hi,

I am getting data from Excel sheet and some of the field's data type needs to be to changed. I have always done this modification through Edit Queries. However, it was not reflecting the changes after Close&Apply. So I had to do in Edit Queries and Modeling.

I would like to know more about this! Why this was happening? and what is the reason?

Regards,

Fatima.

Hi there

It should work perfectly fine when going into the Power Query Editor

The only thing I could initially suggest is if you have got the latest version of Power BI Desktop installed?
