Currently, it is not possible to change the server name in an existing Power BI gateway connection directly, whether through the Power BI Service UI or APIs. The server name field in the gateway’s data source settings is locked once the connection is created, and any modifications to this field require creating a new data source connection.
The only option is to Create a New Data Source with the FQDN
Is there someplace we can suggest/upvote this feature? Being able to edit the gateway connections after the fact seems like a no-brainer, so that DBs can be changed/migrated without editing every PBI report, etc.
