Change data source from datamart to another powerbi source
Hello everyone,
I need some expert help for this big problem.
So, I have this datamart in pbi service with more or less 70 tables in it and it is used by almost 50 reports (the company used mac so in the past they proceeded in this way).
During these days I was wondering, if microsoft will remove datamart feature in the future, what will happen to my datamarts and reports? Do you think it is a good idea to replicate the structure of the datamart in a warehouse? And if so, what will be the best practise to change every single report source to the new one?
I am looking for suggestion, also because I want to integrate with github and datamart are not supported.
Thanks to all that want to help me.

Hi jdalessio1,
Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Fabric Community Forum.
Switching from Datamart to a Warehouse is a smart move, considering Datamarts have limitations and an uncertain future.
The best way to handle the transition is to use a combination of Lakehouse + Warehouse for better scalability and integration. If API is not an option, you will need to manually update the data source in Power Query for each report.
If this post helps, then please consider Accepting as solution to help the other members find it more quickly, don't forget to give a "Kudos" – I’d truly appreciate it!
