Card visual - Power BI based on SharePoint List
- 2 years ago
I tried it, and can confirm that even though we set the calculated column as "number", when visualizing in pbi, it doesnt recognize it as "number". After a few tests, looks like any type of calculated column, will be returned as text. I think its the integration to power bi is the issue not the sharepointlist itself, as if it is not converting the data type properly into power bi.
A better option would be (see if this work for your situation), to create a proper pbi report.
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/desktop-sharepoint-online-listThe integrate to power bi function on sharepoint list is convenient, but has alot of limitations. But this limitation that we are encountering, is not listed.

Thank you so much! The limitations are really annoying. I'll switch to the desktop version.
