When I create an alert on a tile in the browser-based Power BI service, it seems to trigger correctly, but when I go to Settings-->Notifications there are no alerts shown.
Is this a bug in the recent major Fabric changes or am I reading the instructions wrong?

I found it! The functionality has changed and the alerts are now stored in the list of objects in "My Workspace" as an Activator object type. Where's my cheese? 🙂

Thanks for the replies. This appears to be just the tip of the Fabric iceberg that's forcing us to re-design our Power BI environment design and licensing. I can confirm that in OUR environment when I create an alert, the alert fires, but there is nothing in the notification area, either in the workspace I created it in, or My Workspace. If I try to override the save location for the alert when creating it I get an error that the workspace MUST be a Fabric one. I think we'll find a way to get through this, but we waste a large percentage of our IT effort just trying to keep up with Microsoft these days.
Hi @varietygrant ,
According to my tests, when I successfully create an alert, it is able to show up in the notifications. Therefore, this is not a bug.
Also, only you can see the alerts you set up, even if you share the control panel. Similarly, the control panel owner cannot see alerts that you set up in the control panel view.
More restrictions and caveats can be found in the documentation:

Hi Clara - that's great that it works for you in your context, but that doesn't mean there's no code defects in any situation. If you look at my original screen grab you'll see that it's different from mine. Thanks for your reply though.
Hi @varietygrant - you’re setting up an alert correctly in Power BI, but it’s not appearing in the Settings > Notifications area in Power BI Service. This could indeed be related to recent updates in Power BI, including the Fabric changes.
Check on you’ve set up the alert on a card or KPI visual in Power BI Service, as alerts are supported only for certain types of visuals. Also, alerts typically only trigger for numeric data that meets specific conditions.
alternatively,
If alerts aren't displaying in the Settings > Notifications area, try enabling email notifications for alerts. You can go to Settings > Notifications > Preferences and ensure that email notifications are toggled on, so you still receive alerts outside of the Power BI dashboard.
if the above approach not works, this could indeed be a bug. Reaching out to Microsoft Support or posting in Power BI Community forums might help you get confirmation if this is a known issue.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for that. The alert is on a simple Card visual and is working, but I can't see the notification object anywhere.
