Cannot add new fields to streaming dataset

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to add a couple of new fields to an existing streaming data set that contains historic data (the historic data analysis is enabled). Previously, I used to do this with ease without any issues. However, whenever I try to do this now, I get this annoying error!

I tried reseting the dataset by disabling the historic data option and then tried to add the new fields and it worked fine. However, when I tried to re-enable the historic data analysis, I got the same annoying message above.

Then I tried logging out of the account, closing the browser and then relogging to the account and UNEXPECTEDLY, the added fields are gone and the historic data analysis option is re-enabled.

Can someone tell me what's going on please, I'm struggling with this for a couple of hours now!!

UPDATE: I managed to add 2 fields out of 4 new fields I want to add, this makes the total number of fields on the dataset = 74 field, it's now refusing to add anymore, could this some limit for number of fields?

  • Turns out that this issue is caused because of streaming dataset limit (max number of fields is 75). Although this issue is resolved for me, but I'm just wondering why not throw a more useful error message than this vague one? it's actually straitforward error and it's very not cool that it's handled so poorly!
