Cannot Access Settings for Semantic Model Shared via 'From External Orgs'
Hi,
I can't open the Settings for the Semantic model shared by the client in the "From External Orgs" tab. When I click it, either nothing happens or the Power BI Service homepage reloads.
It seems that I have all the required permissions. My license type: Premium per User. Any ideas?
Hi Wojnar,
Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Fabric Community.
- Even though you have Workspace Admin access, the client (source tenant) must check dataset-level permissions and explicitly grant you the "Admin" access to the semantic model (dataset). And also ask the client’s Power BI Admin to verify that external users are allowed to manage dataset settings in their Power BI Admin settings.
- Try accessing the power bi from a different browser or in an Incognito/Private Window and retry. And also Clear cache & cookies and log in again.
- If the issue persists, try accessing the semantic model from the power bi desktop and check if the semantic model appears and can be managed from the desktop
