Can't switch account for Personal Gateway

Hello,

I'm using a generic account to refresh my data. Today I updated my personal gateway, and the personal gateway auto signed in (I guess with my Windows Credential). No matter how I uninstall the gateway when doing the set-up, Personal Gateway just signs in by itself without me putting my credential. Anyone know which file I need to delete/modify? Now on the web it shows my gateway is offline although it is running...

Thank you,

Matthew

Hi @fishleaf,

I'm not able to reproduce the issue like yours. Please make sure the personal gateway is uninstalled completely then install the new personal gateway. When I configure personal gateway, it will prompt me to enter Power BI account.

You can also double click the personal gateway icon on your Windows Desktop Taskbar then the wizard will prompt for you to modify credential:

In addition, please change Data Management Gateway Service account with your own account then restart the service to see if the personal gateway is offline.

Hello Qiuyun,

Thanks a lot for your reply!

I didn't have this problem until I updated my Personal Gateway on Thursday. If I click my icon, I would see this scrennshot and it won't allow me to switch account

I'm just wondering, for your second screenshot, did you go to Manage--Services and Applications -- Services to get the screen? I can't see my servies like what you are highlighting...

Did I install the personal gateway wrong?

Thank you,

Matthew

Hi @fishleaf,

The screenshot you provided is different from mine, it's too strange. In your scenario, please log on the computer as administrator then open Power BI Personal gateway icon to see if you are able to change account.

Regarding the second sreenshot in my original reply, it's Services.exe which can be found from here if you are using Windows 10. See:
