Hi,
I am seeking some help on an issue I have not yet seen or found a solution to on this forum.
We are using custom visuals which have been installed within the organistational visuals.
I can view the visuals at report level however at dashboard level we have started to receive an issue where the custom visuals are not visible.
We receive the error message - "This custom visual is no longer available. Please contact your administrator for details."
When I refresh or even re-pin the visual into the dashboard the visuals work fine, yet after a few hours we again start to receive the error message and I am unable to view the custom visual on the dashboard.
We have tried clearing cache, re-pinning the visuals numerous times as well as re-creating the reports, no luck.
Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated as I am not sure what the issue could be at this stage!
Same issue here with Smart Filter Pro by OKViz.
We're on the latest version in the OCV. I contacted OKViz for support, and they blew me off and said to contact Microsoft.
I can't seem to peg down a ryhme or reason for it.
Very frusterating, especially for reports going out to senior management.
I saw a few other threads mentioning the same issue, but no solutions.
Hi, Thanks for your reply, we appear to have the exact same issue, however I believe I may have solved the problem!
I contacted the developers who produced the custom visuals and they seem to be aware of this problem when publishing to web.
It seems like the issue is with visuals that are installed within Organistanal Visuals, which where the visuals were stored for me.
They offered two solutions:
1. Download the visuals from the AppSource and update the licence key (which they provided a seperate/new key) so the visuals will no longer be reading from the Organistanial Visuals. This has seemed to work so far for me and I have tested numerous time.
2. Update admin settings, which they claimed will also solve the problem IF you do not follow the first solution.
So far the first solution seems to have solved the problem and the custom visuals are viewable on the web both in a dashboard and with reports where I have used the visuals.
I did have to recreate the reports again which the new visuals downloaded from the AppSource.
Hope this helps, I will certainly keep you posted with any updates on this issue.
Thanks for the update.
Unfortunately, in our situation, the first solution won't work as we have 20+ dashboards and it wouldn't be feasibe to have to update all 20 each time a new version of the visual is released.
For the second solution, did they provide any details on what exactly the admin settings are that needed to be updated?
Thanks!
I am currently awaiting a response for a more detailed breakdown and guidance as to what admin settings need to be updated.
I will certainly provide an update when I receive a response, hopefully today!
Thanks!
