Helper IIICan't create initial Power BI Gateway Connection - THE GATEWAY OPERATION HAS BEEN CANCELLED
Weird issue I'm seeing with a few customers I work with.
For these 2 customers we are running into the same issue and that is the following when trying to setup the initial Gateway
"The gateway operation has been cancelled explicitly by the user or from a timeout"
The only constant between the two is that the MySQL Database sits on a Windows 2008 R2 server.
We connected with Microsoft and they were not able to figure out the issue. Instead of using our custom database we tried connecting to the MySQL test database that is deployed and even that fails. We tried this on a different server for one of the customers (Windows 2012 R2) and things work fine.
This does not appear to be a firewall or port issue
This does not appear to be an account with permission issue.
It simply appears that the Gateway cannot talk to the MySQL database on these specific servers.
Kind of at a dead end and hoping someone else has run into the same thing.

It seems like a known issue which other user submit to power bi team.
For this issue, I got the ETA date from power bi team.Actual error is related to MFA and below is the error. Fix for this is in MSIT and it should reach PROD after the blackout (ETA 12/8)

Thanks for the info. Just out of curiosity, is that information posted someplace online or was that a direct response from the Power Bi team when you inquired about the problem? What does "MFA" stand for?

MFA means 'multiple factor authentication'.
Actual, I try to find an work around at support forum(internal), then I find the similar issue and ETA info.
