Helper VCan't connect to on prem data gateway for SQL Server
Hi,
I've developed a Power BI report on desktop and have published this to Power BI Service. This report accesses an on prem SQL Server. I've installed the On prem data gateway on the server and added this to the gateways to be used. When I trry to refresh the data, I get the following error:
"Power BI may have lost connectivity with the data gateway during this dataset refresh. Please make sure that the data gateway is up and running for the next scheduled refresh."
I tried a few times with the same error. The data gateway is currently online:

I have a different report which connects to the Analysis Server on the same Server and it refreshes with no problem. I have updated the data gateway to the latest version, but the same problem exists. I was wondering if there's other parts I need to check for Power BI to connect to the data gateway?

Check the firewall on the server where your gateway is installed:

Thanks for the info. I ran the Networks ports test on the app that is installed on the server. It shows it's able to connect to all the ports.

Can you monitor CPU and RAM usage on your server when you launch a refresh? It's recommended to put the gateway on a separate server/VM so that it doesn't compete for resources with the database. If you do move your gateway to a different server, make sure it's on the same local network as your database to minimize latency.
