Can’t Write Data to Snowflake as a Destination in Dataflows Gen2
Can’t Write Data to Snowflake as a Destination in Dataflows Gen2
We are using Dataflows Gen2 to get/transform some data and want to write the data to Snowflake with the new preview connector. I have the “enable Snowflake database item (preview)” set for the organization. I have the Snowflake connector setup per “Set up your Snowflake database connection” (link below). However, when we go to Choose data destination in Dataflows Gen2 (Power Query) it does not have our Snowflake connector as an output destination.
What are we missing?
Would this be easier as a Pipeline?
Side note, in setting up the connector per this description below it would be nice if there was test connection option.

Hi asjones
Based on the documentation, you can only write to Snowflake using a Pipeline or Copy activity in Fabric. Unfortunately, you cannot do this with the Data Flow Gen 2.

Thanks GilbertQ
I later saw that tabled and wondered. However this blog from September seemed to say Snowflake could be written in a Dataflow Gen2 or was coming soon.

We can work around it for now, do you know if that will change anytime soon?- GilbertQ
