Can not create free Power BI Account

Hello,

I am unable to create free Power BI Account and therefore I can not publish my first Power BI report.

First I am getting:

You have an account with us

You’re using XXXXX with another Microsoft service already.

However after that:

Sorry...

We can't finish signing you up.
It looks like Microsoft Power BI isn't currently available for your work or school.

Working on it ...
OK, got it

Please advise how to create free Power BI Account.

My organization uses Microsoft O365 suite.
Thank you!

    Hey,

you o365 Admin has to assign you a free Power BI licence in 0365 admin center if you are using you org/school account.

    Greetings

  • What email address are you using to signup? It should be an work or school email, Power BI free account do not support personal emails like gmail.com, outlook.com, hotmail.com.. Refer to this microsoft blog if it helps any.

    iw,

The issue could be related to that the Power BI license was disabled in Office 365 admin center by your admin.

Please contact you Office 365 to check if Power BI license is disabled or not.

    Regards,

    Charlie Liao

Did you ever figure out what resloved this issue?  Was it assiging the user the pro license or enabling powerbi in 365 or both or something else?

I was giving the powerbi admin role in 365 as well as the license but it did not reslove this problem for me.  I think my issue is that we are using a government domain, which apparently don't all access to many of the features standard accounts have.
