Can I query Power BI Service to discover which columns of my PBIX are used in which visuals?

Is there a back end to Power BI service that I can query?

It would be helpful to know a list of all reports and dashboards, and the objects on each.

I'd also want to know what objects from within my PBIX are in use, and which are not. I can use that to possibly simplify the PBIX, and long-term, use it as a road map to replace the quick data prep ETL that we wrote just to get up and running with a proper data warehouse, staged in SQL in a dimensional model and then modeled in SSAS Tabular.

There is, https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/developer/rest-api-reference

There are also a number of online documentation tools that allow you to upload a template of your PBIX file and they do a lot of that kind of analysis and reporting. https://www.datavizioner.com/blog/how-to-use-power-bi-documenter/
