Can End Users Save Their Own Filtered Views in Power BI Reports?
Hi manoj_0911 End users can use Personal Bookmarks in Power BI Service to save their filtered views, like Region = "South" or Date = "Last 30 Days." These bookmarks allow users to persist filter settings across sessions and switch between saved views easily. Ensure Bookmarks and Personalize Visuals are enabled in the report settings for this functionality.
Hi manoj_0911
In Power BI Service, end users can save their filter and slicer selections using the Personal Bookmarks feature, which is the most straightforward and user-friendly way to achieve a "saved filter state" experience. When viewing a report, users can apply filters (such as selecting "Region = South" and "Date = Last 30 Days"), and then click on the Bookmarks pane (usually found in the top bar or under the View menu) to create a personal bookmark. This bookmark saves the current view—including filter selections, slicer states, and the visible page—and users can give it a custom name for easy reference. They can also choose to make a bookmark their default view, so the report opens with their saved settings every time. Additionally, users can create multiple bookmarks to quickly switch between different filter combinations. It's important to note that personal bookmarks are specific to each user and do not affect what others see. As a best practice, report designers should ensure the Bookmarks pane is enabled and educate users about this functionality to enhance self-service capabilities. If more complex use cases are needed, such as sharing saved views or embedding reports with pre-applied filters, URL query parameters or parameterized reports may be considered, but for most end users, personal bookmarks offer the simplest and most effective solution.
