Button Slicer multi-select bug after publish to web

We have a button slicer on our report with Single Select turned off (this means user can select multiple items without using CTRL).

This week we noticed that the published report on our website is bugging out. Essentially the selected items would become unselected once we select more than 1 items.

A simple count DAX measure shows the following:

User selects 1st item: Slicer highlights correctly, DAX Measure show 1 selected

User selects 2nd item: No highlights visible, DAX Measure show 2 selected

User selects 3rd item: No highlights visible, DAX Measure show 1 selected

User selects 4th item: No highlights visible, DAX Measure show 1 selected

and so on...

We have reset the slicer setting, published in a new workspace and opened the report in incognito, still no luck. Also the fact that no highlights are visible despite selecting more items should suggest this is not a simple setting issue.

It is interesting that the bug is not present in PBI Desktop or PBI Service within the tenant. It only exists in "publish to web" dashboards, both the direct link and HTML embed.

Note that when selecting the items with CTRL held, the slicer and DAX measure works as intended. However this is not suitable for our use case, and the descrepency in behaviour between desktop and published dashboards suggest this is not normal.

I suspect this is a Microsoft side issue, perhaps a recent update caused this bug. That said, would appreciate your thoughts on this in case I missed anything.

We experiencing the same issue. Forcing single select resolves the problem, but we can’t use that option since we need multiple selections. Does Microsoft know about this bug? Has anyone found a solution?

Yes, spoke with the support. They're still investigating the issue. Not sure when they'll fix it. 
If possible, please raise a ticket with them as well (more tickets = more pressure to resolve).

Alternatives sol - Use Chiclet slicer  (somewhat close to Button slicer)

Also note: This is a Button Slicer, introduced and avaiable by default since 2023. It is not the standard slicer.
