Browser blocking cookies

Thank you in advance to the person who helps!

So I'm on the latest version of PowerBI as well as all of the browsers are on the most recent. All browsers are allowing cookies and all default programs for web-based files is Chrome.

I had a similar problem when trying to log into PowerBI and solved the issue there by using the browser to authenticate but that setting still stands.

I've downloaded the On-premises data gateway and when I try to log in, I get this error message:

  • Hi bilogin ,

Since the error message is stating that you do not have cookies enabled and you believe that you do, I would confirm first that it is enabled in all your browsers on that machine.  Then, open up Chrome, clear all the cache and saved information and then try again.

Let us know if that works!

    Hi bilogin ,

Are you unable to log in in both Power BI Desktop and Service?

If you encounter this error in Desktop, please follow this document to allow cookies, and then clear your browser cache and cookies. Or set another browser as the default program for web-based files.

If you encounter this error in Service, please click F12 -> Applications -> Storage -> Cookies to view the cookies information of the power bi website.

    Best Regards,
    Winniz

funny that this is two years now and this issue persists - my environment is a brand new Win22 Server with no browser usage at all prior to installing the PowerBi Gateway ...sign-in provides this odd error (since Edge browser has never been used even once)
...choose option to authenticate via browser and no probs

...please someone fix this - its anoying
