Best browser for Power BI

Hi All

I've just released my first published App to our organisation and I'm hearing stories about very slow load times when they're opening it in their browsers.
I was wondering if anyone had any advice for which browser is best to view these reports.

I've tested myself and found that Edge, peaked at nearly 100% CPU usage and 900mb's worth of RAM for my report.
Load time was about 20 seconds.

I did the same test on IE and found the it took 15 seconds to load, peaking at 60% CPU and 718mb of RAM.

Chrome,  9 seconds, 60% CPU and 586mb of RAM.

The results speak for themselves but do I tell the organisation that a non-microsoft product performes better? Is there anything I can do with Edge or IE to improve to the same level as Chrome?

Thanks

Martin

Microsoft has listed the following browsers as supported for Power BI.

    • Microsoft Edge
    • Internet Explorer 11
    • Chrome desktop latest version
    • Safari Mac latest version
    • Firefox desktop latest version

These browsers are supported on all platforms where they're available.

    Link: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/consumer/end-user-browsers

The documentation, however, does not compare between these listed browsers.

I notice, in another similar thread, they accepted Chrome as the better browser.

Maybe, moderators have a view on this as well.

  • While speaking with MS Support team on a Power BI issue they recommended to use Chrome for Power BI.

Apparently its more optimized with Chrome...
