BUG: PowerBI Online

When a PowerBI publishes a dataset and it fails you cannot republish or refresh.  It will show blank data.  You MUST delete and then publish OR rename the dataset some different.

    What's your data source?

     

    If it's on-premise source, please verify if the connection is successfull in "Manage Gateway". Also make sure you update your Power BI Desktop into latest version for publish.

      Hi Simon, our source is an on-premise SQL database.  The Manage Gateway showed no problems between publishing.  My team makes sure everyone is up to date in th emost recent Desktop client since we've had some issues with that previously.  We've ran into this particular issue serveral times and it most often happens when we publish more than one report at a time.

      Simon, as a followup after a refresh (which was shown as sucessful) the data online again appears blank.  If I refresh manually the data still does not appear.  If I download to desktop and then refresh the data appears.  I have the latest (July 5th) release of PowerBI.
