Azure datalake main directory seems empty in Power BI

Hi All,

I'm quite new to the world of data, and am stuck with an error I can't explain. Any help is much appreciated!

The problem: when trying to get data from an Azure datalake, the first directory is visible, but directories within this dir seem invisible, returning 'Unexpected error: Value cannot be null. The weird thing: a colleague with equal Azure permissions is able to load the BI dashboard and see all data/dir's within the main directory. Within Azure I am able to see all content.

Solutions I've tried:

  • I've created a dir at the highest hierarchical level in the database (equal to the main dir of which I cannot access the contents) and placed the required data in this dir. This data can be accessed and opened from within Power BI; directories are invisible.
  • Updated Power BI (2.109.1021.0)

Other information:

  • Windows 10
  • I've tried all endpoints and datasources I could think of (Get data --> Azure Blob Storage; Azure Data Lake Storage Gen1; Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2)
