Azure Maps not displaying all data points

I am using the Azure Maps visual in a Power BI dashboard, and today discovered that not all of the underlying data points are being displayed as bubbles on the map. This has not been an issue previously, and there have been no changes or refreshes to the underlying data or report. Is anyone else experiencing this?

I am using the Power BI Service via Chrome. When I tried viewing the report in Edge, no bubbles were displayed at all, just a blank background map.

I have the same problem, power bi destop it works but in the service no data points are shown when selected on specific location. In an old post it mentioned to change the "location" attribute category to "Place" instead of "Uncategorized". This worked for me.

Hi @claireb ,

Thank you for giving a specific description of the problem. Based on the information you show, I will give you the following steps to solve the problem.

1.Check Browser Compatibility. Since you've mentioned a difference in behavior between Chrome and Edge, ensure both browsers are up to date. Power BI supports the latest versions of Chrome, Edge, Safari (Mac), and Firefox. Web SDK supported browsers - Microsoft Azure Maps | Microsoft Learn

2.Check the data source. Sometimes issues with the data source cause Azure Maps visuals to interpret the data, so that some data points don't show up. Additionally, you can simplify the map by working with one layer at a time to isolate the issue, as suggested in the Map Reports documentation: Maps in a Power BI paginated report - Power BI | Microsoft Learn.

3.Check the amount of data points. It needs to consider slow loads for its data points.

4. Check if the version of your Power BI Desktop is updated automatically. Sometimes, the version will affect it.

If you still have trouble in it, you may need to answer some questions. Whether you have applied any filters? How much data volume there is? Could you please provide me with the data you have used and the setting of it? These details can help us better analysis and solve the problems.

I do not believe this is an issue with either the browser nor the number of rows.  I am having the same issue when visualizing using 18 records using the Location field.  Here's what it looks like in desktop Version: 2.126.1261.0 64-bit (February 2024):

. . . and here's what it looks like on the service.

This appears to be an issue on the Power BI Service.
