Was previously working fine.
Auto-zoom works correctly in PBI desktop but not in service once published (on MS Edge browser).
Additional testing: auto-zoom will work correctly online as long as I don't have a reference layer. Once I add a reference layer, azure map will not auto-zoom in PBI service (it does work on desktop).
Please see screenshots:
- PBI Desktop: map auto zoom to points in selected zip code even with reference layer turned on
- PBI Service: map does not auto-zoom below reference layer borders.
It appears that this is a known issue with Azure maps following the October update. Auto-zoom does not work with a reference layer enabled.

Hi @CarlosPelay ,
1. Confirming browser compatibility
The map feature in Power BI Services may be affected by your browser. It is recommended to try the following steps:
Use a different browser to see if the problem persists, such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Microsoft Edge.
Clear the browser cache and make sure the browser is loading the latest version of Power BI.
2. Check for Power BI versions and updates
Ensure that both Power BI Desktop and Power BI Services are up to date. Some features may differ between versions, so using the latest version of Power BI may solve the problem.
3. Debugging with the Azure Maps API
If you are familiar with Azure Maps, try debugging with the Azure Maps API in Power BI to see if you can achieve the desired zoom behavior through API calls.
You can use Power BI's Developer Tools or Diagnostic Logs to view detailed information when loading maps to help identify possible errors or limitations.
If the above solutions still don't resolve your issue, I would also respond to our technical support team to see if there is an issue that is already known, I recommend that you respond to the Power BI technical support team and submit a ticket to be able to better help you pinpoint the issue and resolve it!
Hope it helps!

Dear Technical Support
I can confirm that auto-zoom still does not work properly in Azure Maps App when a reference layer is enabled.
However, as a work around, when I swap between panes the map is auto-zoomed to the selected area.
It will be a great improvement to the Azure Maps App if the auto-zoom function can work properly with immediate effect when a reference layer is enabled.
Thank you in advance! 🙂
