Automated Streaming Dataset using Power BI Gateway

Hi all,

I have a doubt with regards to the Power BI Gateway, that Power BI offers to automate the input of streaming data. 

I would like to upload and to update data in an automated way from a certain remote source. I have read about the possibility to use the named as Power BI Gateway. I have a Power BI Pro account, however, I don't have any Azure service subscription and I have read that this Gateway uses Azure Service Bus (which doesn't seem a free service).

In order to clarify my issue, the data sources are remotely from my local computer, basically, it's a remote server from where I need to capture continuously some metrics to be later used in Power BI app. 

Would this scenario be totally free? (just a Power BI Pro account)

Hi @kmas,

AFAIK, current power bi gateways are free to all power bi users, it has limitation on refresh times and data amount.

What capabilities are being added to the free service?
Beginning June 1, 2017, the free service will have capabilities equivalent to Power BI Pro, except for sharing, enterprise distribution, and collaboration. This includes the same 10 GB workspace limit, up to 8 daily scheduled refreshes for datasets, and maximum 1M/hour streaming data rate. We’re also including access to all data sources, including those available through the On-premises data gateway.

BTW, share and embed features has limit to 'pro and above' licenses.
