Can we download a dataset from Power BI Service without using Power Automate, and download it after the scheduled refresh?
I have a requirement from a client in Power BI to automatically download the dataset when it is refreshed. They have given me access to the Power BI Service. How can I do that?

Hi @shon_tytus
Thank you for reaching out Microsoft Fabric Community Forum.
If you only have access to Power BI Service, your options are limited. If the dataset is in a Premium Workspace, you can use XMLA Endpoints to connect and extract data with tools like SSMS, Python, or Power BI Desktop. If it’s not in Premium, there’s no direct way to download the full dataset automatically, but you can manually export data from reports (with row limits) or use Analyze in Excel if enabled. If scripting is allowed, you can try the Power BI REST API (requires setup). If Power Automate is available, it’s the easiest way to automate exports.

Hello Shon,
You can approch any one options
-if you don’t have Power BI Premium, use XMLA endpoints to extract data instead.
-If you need a no-code solution, Power Automate is the easiest option.
-Python/PowerShell scripts can automate the dataset download and integrate with other workflows

Hi Pankaj,
My actual requirement is to automatically download the full dataset from the Power BI service when the data is refreshed, and I only have access to the Power BI service. What is the best way to achieve this?
