Automate Row Level Security (RLS) permissions in Power BI service

Hello community,

 

 

I have a report with dynamic RLS applied and I am looking for a way to add new users in service/Security to the Dataset Row-Level security in an automatic way  ?

I would like to avoid the dependency of adding new users as they come in several places, so this could be really useful for me.

I want to know if there is a way for that ?

Hi @Anonymous 


What you can do is to create an Azure Active Directory Security Group. Then add the AAD Security Group to the Role in the Power BI Service. That way you can add users to the AAD Security group and once they are added they will get access granted.

 

Now to do the same thing with the users in your Power BI Desktop file, you can do that with my blog post detailed below:
