Authentication for Enterprise On-Premise Gateway with Folder Data Source

I am trying to access a Folder as a data source on an on-premise gateway. The folder is within a synchronized onedrive tenant structure (maybe that's creating a secondary permission issue that it cannot authenticate against?).

What credentials is this Windows username and password seeking?

The gateway is configured as an enterprise gateway so it created an NT SERVICE account. I gave this account access to the directory.

It won't accept cmd prompt "whoami" as username with OAuth2 Organizational password.

It won't accept cmd prompt "whoami" as username with pin (which is what I use to login to the computer with gateway installed).

It won't accept my OAuth2 Organizational username and password.

It won't accept my OAuth2 Organizational username and pin.

Do I need to install SSAS to get this to work, even though I'm trying to access a folder and not a sql db?

based on the given details, it appears that, you are using Sharepoint Online Tenant. & your 900 CSV files are available in SharePoint Online itself.

In that case, you use the SharePoint Online Connection Directly to access the CSV files in your Power BI Visualization.
In case the Number of CSV Files (900) or Data Size (3.5 GB) is the issue, please use Power BI Dataflow (Online Service of Power BI Reporting) to directly connect to your Data available in Share Point Online & then create reports on top of it.

You really don't need to perform this Synch operation from SharePoint to One Drive unless you really want to.

Note - BTW, if your SharePoint is not online, then also you just need to install the On-Premise Gateway at the Server where your Sharepoint is residing.

You do not need Gateway for OneDrive sources

Refer Importing and connecting OneDrive files to Power BI (brainstorminc.com) &
Use OneDrive for Business links in Power BI Desktop - Power BI | Microsoft Docs to achive your requirement without using gateway

Unfortunately this solution doesn't work according to my attempts/knowledge. Onedrive only works for files that are typically an individual users' files within the tenant. The files I'm trying to access are on a sharepoint site. I tried using the sharepoint connector but have had no luck because of the size and volume of the files.

This is why I'm trying to go an alternate route with the data gateway setup, for which I'm still having no luck getting running because of this authentication issue.

Why do you need gateway to get data from onedrive folder ?

I have 900 CSV files that total 3.5 gb in size sitting on the sharepoint tenant. The device with the gateway setup synchronizes to this sharepoint site via onedrive.

I am trying to do an initial batch load then have incremental refresh run from then on out. The load and/or refresh mechanisms persistently fail in desktop and service. I have been trying Sharepoint Folder as the data source, but have been having many 'get request' failures and wanted to try an alternate method.
