App permissions

Morning,

I have an issue with the audience feature within the apps that I can't seem to work through. We have an app with two audiences where some of the reports are for both audiences, whilst others are for either one or the other. One audience is Entire Organisation where the other is selected members. On some of the reports that are dual audience, when members who aren't named in the selected users try to access it, they get the below error:

I have gone into the workspace, and checked the permissions on the dataset and Entire Organisation is there, with App(Reshare, Build) permissions. If I then add individual user permissions to the dataset, that user can then view the report in the app. Other reports in the same workspace that are also dual audience aren't suffering from this problem. I have tried deleting the dataset and re-publishing, and updating the app, but neither have worked so far. Anyone have any ideas?

Many thanks!

Hi @TheCreepster1

This appears to be a bug in Power BI which has been confirmed by the Power BI internal product team, iCM ID: 341210925 according to the  internal website, the expected fix date is 2022/12/17.

The temporary work around given by the product team is to go directly to the permission list of the dataset and add this user's permissions, so that the report can be visible to the user.

Hope this helps

Stuart

Thank you. I have a call later with someone from the unified support team who will likely come to the same conclusion, then.
