App navigation suddenly not alphabetically ordered?
Anyway, here's a solution to this:
- In the app's Navigation settings, turn off "New navigation builder" (it's a toggle at the top)
- Then update the app
- Turn back on the "New navigation builder"
- Then update the app again
This puts the reports back in alphabetical order because the old navigation builder is still ordering them alphabetically. I managed to work these steps into my power automate desktop flow.

Great workaround...but of course I do wonder WHY this now required and I'm sure virtually every Power BI user hs the same question. Hope it is just an oversight.
