App Report based on Datamart has Can't Display the Visual error

PBI_Error.png

Reports based on a datamart show the "Can't display the visual. See details" error in the app. To fix this issue, I have to add that individual as a viewer in the workspace. This isn't ideal, since being able to share to non-viewers of the workspace is the primary benefit of the using an App. This only occurs with visuals built off datamarts.

If anyone knows of a workaround to fix this issue, I'd be interested in trying.

Hi @Anonymous ,

It could be related to the build permission for the base datasets in your composite model. You need to grant this permission to the users who want to view the report.

Indeed, the Viewer permission is not enough to use composite models. The missing part is the Build permission, which is not part of the permission provided when the user has the Viewer permission on a workspace.
