App Permissions

I have 3 reports. Right now, these are all in one workspace and all published in one app.

Within 1 app, is there a way to limit who can see which report?

For example, within the App, I have report A, B, C. John should only be able to see A and B; he should not be able to see C. Can I do this within 1 app? Or do I need to create an app for each report and then set the permissions for each app?

Hi @Anonymous ,

"I have report A, B, C. John should only be able to see A and B; he should not be able to see C. "

You can add RLS to all three reports.

For example, the RLS of report C is set to John not being able to access any data. . . Then three reports can be included in the same APP.

No way to share all 3 reports using the app to differnt audiance. You could however use multiple sharing mechinism if there is one report that all users need access to.

Example:

report A: all users need access (John, Jane, Marc)

report B: John and Jane need access

report C: Mark needs access

steps:

  1. Incude report A in app, and share with all 3 users
  2. share report B via "report share" to John and Jane
  3. share report C via "report share" to Marc
  4. On report A, add shared links for report B and C.

The user would not know that 2 different sharing mechanisms have been used.
