App Link Not Hyperlinking Directly to App

Hi All

 

When you build an app it provides a link you can share with users so I assume they can jump to the app and do not have to learn to navigate the PBI splash pages.

 

I ask you Microsoft, what is the point of providing an app link if it does not take users to the app and we have to teach them these extra steps?

When I share the link, user clicks, and even if they are already logged into the browser using Office 365, the are taken to the PBI splash page:


 

They then sign in, and end up on the PBI home page. They are not re-directed to the app.

    What’s the browser the end-users are using? Do they have the access to the APP you shared?

    According to my test, if I haven’t logged in to the Power BI account and used the APP link to open the APP, I will be navigated to the login page, after I logged in to the Power BI, it will immediately be navigated to the APP like this:

     

    Therefore, I suggest you to make sure that the end users have access the the APP you shared and try to go the the powerbi.microsoft.com to log in the Power BI account before they opened the APP link if it’s possible.
