Analyzing and Visualizing Data with Power BI
Hi Team, I am a biginer in the Power BI and started learning through the edx topic "Analyzing and Visualizing Data with Power BI", Now there is an exercise "Exercise 2: Import Data from a Folder Containing CSV Files" for Lab 1. here from 4 CSV files we have to extract the data through PowerBI tool. Now here is the steps they have stated.
- Download the zip filecontaining VanArsdel's international sales data. Extract the file to "C:\DAT207x". You can use other folders, but if you are going to use the starter file provided at each lab instead of your own file, then it is recommended to use the absolute path given above in order to successfully perform the schedule refresh in Lab 4. You should see 4 CSV files in the "C:\DAT207x\International" folder.
- Import the data from the file folder by using the Get Data. To do this, click theGet Data / More option, select Folder and click Connect. Select the folder where you saved the 4 CSV files containing VanArsdel’s international sales data.
- Edit the query before loading to the data model.
- Perform the following steps:
- Name the query International Sales.
- Select to combine (combined binaries) the content of those 4 files, leave the default settings, and click OK.
- Filter the rows that are after December 31st, 1999.
- Remove the Namecolumn.
- Edit the SalesQuery from the US Sales. --------------------------
- contuned... Everything is fine up to 4th step , but in the 5th step I haven't found any query with US sales. They have infact given 4 .csv files for four different countries but not for US, I got stuck here. Have any body done this tutorials / Exercise for this course ? if yes kindly share you ideas. Thanks

Hi subhro2018,
This is a serial courses. If it's possible that the US query was added before? The new query is "International Sales". Does this step stop the next operations?

Yea, I think this step I need, actually there is a last step where the the Exercise is asking "How many rows were imported from the International Sales query?". So, I am hoping that those counts are also included for US entries. Also in the 6th step it is instructing "Append the International Sales table to the Sales query from the US Sales." It means the US sales stuff inevitable.
Thanks for your intervension in this.

Hi Dale,
one more thing the US sales were not added before as I can see in those 4 Excel sheet for Germany, France, Mexico, Canada but not US.
Thanks,
