Analyze in Excel empty

Hi

A user that has the right access to the underlying dataset in Power BI, cannot see the data model in Analyze in Excel.

Do you know what could be the reason?

Confirm if you have a Model dropdown on the PivotTable Fields. Press it down and it will open the tables on your Power BI

Hi  @melpop

'Manage data model' option in excel will only show the data model when you connect data source in excel. A Data Model is created automatically when you import two or more tables simultaneously from a database. When you import one table, you can select 'add this data to data model'. Refer this article: Advanced Excel - Data Model

'Analyze in excel' just quotes the dataset from power bi service, not as a single data source, this dataset is come from your .pbix file which has included relationships etc. so it will not be used as a single data source to be added to data model in excel.

Hi @melpop ,

There are actually quite a few reasons why this might not work.  The Considerations and Limitations part of this article has quite a few reasons:

Start in Power BI with Analyze in Excel - Power BI | Microsoft Docs

This article can also help with troubleshooting:
