Analyze in Excel Error: OLE DB or ODBC Error

Yesterday everything was working fine without issue however I've been getting a new error this morning when trying to add values in a pivot table. It's been the same datasets for months; Newer versions have not been added, nor have the structure/links across datasets been altered.

I've tried:

  • Updating the Analyze in Excel add-in.
  • Checked my Gateways are up to date.
  • Refreshing the datasets which completed successfully.
  • Rebooting my system before and after completing the above.

Hi @Anonymous, we are encountering the same issue with analyze in excel only on previously saved files that were working fine prior to the error. Could you pls share how you resolved it.

Hi  @Anonymous ,

Did you encounter this error message “the field you area moving cannot be placed in that area of the report” when adding Value to pivot table, you can view the following link if you encounter it.

You can check the relevant limitations of Analyze in Excel:

Hi Liu,

I did not receive that error. The only error I received was the one I shared. The connection was working fine fro a year, right up until Thursday. Now I cannot do anything with it. I even tried generating a new Excel file directly form the master dataset, but it didn't work.
