Hello all, i have a quality alert workspace with a dataset in it, when i publish a report that uses this dataset to a different workspace (sales), i am not seeing the "Allow all users to connect to the app's underlying datasets using the Build permission " setting on the app carry over to the dataset permissions. i have a user in my sales app that can not see the quality alert data because its saying she does not have access to the underlying dataset. If i look at the permissions on that dataset, i do not see here there either. What is the point of this selection? Is it only for datasets that resides in the same workspace?
To able to see use the report based on Shared Dataset user has to have access on the primary dataset (read only)
refer limitation Intro to datasets across workspaces - Power BI | Microsoft Docs
In you case give user access on quality alert worksapce access (through APP to keep read only) and then they will be able to see report build on top of it from Sales workspace.
