I have a workspace where I have some gen1 dataflows, all connected to 1 database (postgres).
All of these update several times a day, and have been for a few months now.
On 09/14, another user did some tests, creating a Data Warehouse and some Gen2 Dataflows, however, as he was without database credentials, he chose to connect to the workspace's Gen1 dataflows to get the data, and concluded correctly.
However, shortly after these creations, Dataflows Gen1 began to break updates with the following error:
Error : DataSource.Error: An error happened while reading data from the provider: 'The remote certificate is invalid according to the validation procedure.'.
After research I saw that the error refers to the validation of the database's SSL certificate, however, this configuration is disabled, both in the database and in the powerbi data source connection...
I tried deleting the configured connections and recreating them from scratch, but the result didn't change.
I tried changing the connection settings in Settings -> Manage Connections and Gateways -> Edit Connection
However, the following error appears:
Unable to update connection credentials.
Unable to connect to data source. The data source is inaccessible, there was a timeout error, or the data source credentials are invalid. Check your data source configuration and contact a data source administrator to resolve this issue.
Details:
An error happened while reading data from the provider:
'Could not load file or assembly 'System.Runtime.CompilerServices.Unsafe, Version=6.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' or one of its dependencies. I also tried to activate the encryption requirement to connect to the database, but the result is the same, it seems to have no effect.
As I suspected it was a bug in the workspace that stored some cache, I created another workspace, and then another dataflow gen1, I used the same connection used in the first workspace, and I retrieved some data from the database, saved it, and when I click to update the dataflow, the operation completes correctly, confirming that it is some type of cache that disconfigures the connection on the first workspace.
As an emergency measure, I am recreating the dataflows in a new workspace, but I would need to fix the problem in the original workspace...
I would recommend removing the new item from your existing workspace to get your existing data flow to work as expected. I will then create a new workspace and put the new fabric items into this new app workspace.
Hi @GilbertQ
I forgot to mention this, but I already removed the new items from the workspace, but, nothing changes.
But I have an update, in the new workspace, where the connections are working, I upgraded the workspace to PPU, and the same error started to happen, and if I return the license to Pro, the error stops happening, but I have dataflows that need to be Premium to update.
Hi,GilbertQ ,thanks for your concern about this issue.
Your answer is excellent!
And I would like to share some additional solutions below.
Hello,@GustavoBorges .I am glad to help you.
Have you tried clearing the browser cache after switching the license to Premium Per User and subsequently reconfiguring the data source credentials for all of the Gen1 streams that are having issues, based on your testing, the issue seems to be related to the original data source credentials being stored in the browser cache.
I hope my suggestions give you good ideas, if you have any more questions, please clarify in a follow-up reply.
Best Regards,
Carson Jian,
