Hello

Looking for help in taking care of the on premise gateway, is there a forum for that? 

Got thrown into an existing setup and under Settings > Manage Connections and gateways, i see on the on-premise data gateways but under connections i dont see anything. is the correct?

also looking to allow powerapp to use the PowerBI gateway and needing information on how to allow that connection/user.

Oh boy. Buckle up, this will be a wild ride. I can post some general guidelines if interested but fair warning - they will be overwhelming.

VBI.  Very Bad Idea.  PowerApps and PowerAutomate connection users MUST have Connection Creator role on the gateway.  You do NOT want that on your Power BI gateways, ever.  Keep them separate.

Also keep in mind that Power BI gateways serve different types of requests - Import Mode  (dataset mashups) and Direct Query mode ( query and result passthrough).  Power Platform apps (Automate, PowerApps) only support Direct Query mode.
