Adding Analysis Services Connection to On-Premise Data Gateway

Morning gurus!  I have a semantic model in a premium workspace that uses the CData Sage PBI Connector.  I am able to add this as a datasource in a desktop file.  After publishing I get an error saying there is no gateway.

 

When I'm in the Gateway connections section it shows this connection as being AnalysisServices type.  I don't have this setup anywhere, I'm not connection to Azure or SSMS or any other Analysis Service tools.

Next I try to add this connection to my On-Premise Data Gateway and I'm receving the below error message.

I'm at a loss of what to do...my Azure admin shows nothing in the Azure Analysis Services enterprise app.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @noircrk ,

The CData connector is an ODBC driver. If it is installed on your local machine it works for you to create reports in Power BI Desktop. If you want to refresh data in Power BI Service, the CData connecter has to be installed on the same machine on which the gateway is installed. Then you (or your admin) can set up the data source in the gateway settings in the web brwoser, then you can use it to refresh data.

If your dataset uses direct query mode - with the CData connector both is possible, import and direct query - then you also need to make your authentication setting decision in the gatewy settings, whether direct query should use one provided login for all users or the identity of the current user (SSO) to access Sage data.

Thank you for your review, Martin.  The semantic model will refresh in the service just fine.  My problem is when I add that model as a datasource in a different PBI file and publish to the service I cannot get that to refresh.  That secondary published file has the error for missing gateway and makes me add a Analysis Services connection to the on prim gateway.  These settings are the ones I'm struggling with.
