Repeating data in a visual is a fallacy.
Matrix and Table visuals are the sad examples of bending the knee to the Excel overlords, but at least they attempt to identify these Totals areas in a familiar way.
And then there is the issue of orders of magnitude. In chart type visuals adding a total would skew the scale and mess with the comparison.
