Access to the underlying data

Hello all,

I have created a Power BI report using the import method (multiple Excel files). I want to share this report with a few people in my organization but I want them to only see the visuals that I have created and interact with them and leverage the slicers BUT THEY MUST NOT SEE ANY DATA THAT HAS BEEN USED TO CREATE THE VISUALS

So in essence what I am trying to say is they must only see the visuals and any data that is being displayed by the visual(s) only.

Please help 🙂

TIA

  • Hi hasnainrazaz ,

please provide "Viewer" role to users in Power BI.  they should be able to see only data of visuals and they cant see underlying data of report

  • Hi hasnainrazaz ,

To ensure, users do not have access to underlying data:

    1. Provide only viewer role to the user.

    2. To control the export of data by users, Go to PBI Desktop->Options & Setting - > Current File - > Check the appropriate options

3.Take advantage of RLS and assign user to required roles

    Thanks,

    Pallavi
