Access to paginated report visual in app

Hi,

Is there any way to access the Paginated report visual in the app without giving access to the workspace?

I have already been tried by adding the paginated report in the content but still user can not access the Paginated report visual if they do not have access to workspace. The power bi report and paginated report are in the same workspace.

Thanks

Hi @jy2482

No, users cannot access the Paginated Report visual in an app without being given access to the workspace where the report resides. For the Paginated Report visual to work, users need both Build permission on the dataset and Viewer role in the workspace. Merely including the paginated report in the app content is not sufficient without workspace access.

To resolve this:

  1. Assign Viewer access to the workspace for the required users.
  2. Ensure the app is properly updated to reflect the latest changes.

Hi @jy2482 ,

Share the specific report with the users who need access. You can do this by going to the report in the Power BI Service, clicking on the "Share" button, and entering the email addresses of the users.
If you want to embed the report in an app, you can use the "Publish to web" option or embed it in a SharePoint page or other web applications using the embed code.
By sharing the report directly or embedding it, users can access the Paginated report visual without needing access to the entire workspace.

Hope it helps!
