Access to Power BI dataset through Excel

Hi all,

First of all, I apologize if I post in the wrong forum.

I'm currently experiencing an issue at my workplace regarding accessing our Power BI dataset through Excel.
The following two combinations doesn't work as expected, however I do see the "From Power BI"-button and the domain is correct as well:

  • Insert -> PivotTable -> From Power BI (domain)
  • Data -> Get Data -> From Power Platform -> From Power BI (domain)

In both cases when I click "From Power BI" I get the following error:

The weird thing is that I can perfectly export the Power BI dataset to Excel through Power BI Service with no issues at all and the connection will work like a charm. So the question is: how can I fix this, so my users will get easier access to our Power BI dataset in Excel?

TL;DR: I can't access my Power BI dataset directly through Excel, but I can "Export to Excel" through Power BI Service with no problem. How can I fix this?

Excel version: 2307 (Build 16626.20170)

Power BI Licens: Premium per User

Thank you all in advance!

Check that you meet all the requirements listed here

I have had issues like that in the past that required I work with Power BI support directly to resolve.
