Hello everybody,
We are embedding Power BI reports in a private website using an iframe, with the link taken directly from the report. Internal users within the organization, who have a Pro license, can view all reports correctly.
However, I am an external consultant with a Pro license outside the organization, but I have been added to the organization's tenant as an administrator.
The issue is as follows:
I am attaching a screenshot for reference.
What could be the possible causes of this discrepancy, and how can I resolve it?
thanks in advance
Gian Paolo

Hi @GianPaolo ,
I am betting that you do not have access to the image location. I am assuming that the image is not "internet" and is inside a firewall and/or at a location where permissions are required to see it. Can you confirm this?

Hello Collinq,
Thanks for the answer. Honestly the process I used is this: I build the reports myself so the Image was on My Desktop in my local laptop. I uploaded it on the .pbix file as Cover with Power Bi Desktop. After I published the Entire .pbix file in the Workspace mentioned above in the initial question. If I view the report in the Service Online there are no problem, I can access all the reports and everything work perfectly as external user. The problem arises when we embed those reports in the private website.
To asnwer your question I guess the image is inside the .pbix file in the ServiceArea of the tenant.
Hey @GianPaolo ,
My assumption was that the you were using a link. If it is a link to an image, then that image has to be available to the Service (meaning the image has to be in the cloud somewhere) and then that would be a great reason for it to not show up in the embedded version.
Since it works in the Service but not in SharePoint I would think that this is a SharePoint permissions issue. I found this article which might be the solution (FIX: Sharepoint images not displaying for some users in Power BI Service – Power BI Point)
