We are using the enterprise gateway, but I am having trouble getting an MS Access DB added. I need to have it refresh on a scheduled basis. What is the best way to get an MS Access DB to refresh on a schedule?
Do you need to have a report in Power BI Service to be refreshed or Power BI Desktop?
Here is an article on how to set schedule for a report in Service - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/refresh-scheduled-refresh
I built the report in PBI Desktop, published it to the service. I've created dashboards off of that. I need all of that to refresh on a regular basis without me having to open up the PBI Desktop file and click "refresh" and then click "publish".
Go to your workspace -> Datasets -> Find dataset related to your report -> Press Schedule refresh -> Go to Scheduled Refresh and set time and frequency
We have an on-prem enterprise gateway installed, but I do not have a personal gateway installed. I need instructions for my IT guy to add the access databse to the gateway. He was able to add sharepoint, but it doesn't appear that it will support ms access.
HI @soldstatic,
Access database is a file, I'd like to suggest you add new datasource with 'file' type.

Yes I've done that in the PBI Desktop file, but how do I get this to refresh without manually refreshing the file and then clicking publish, without a personal gateway?
Hi @soldstatic,
Nope, current it seems like only allow with personal gateway.
