Hi TotalAnonymous The problem of high CU% and performance issues due to spikes in workloads. You could try these:
- Analyze capacity metrics and identify workload spikes.
- Optimize resource-heavy queries and adjust refresh schedules.
- Enable Autoscale to handle temporary load increases.
- Monitor CU% and performance regularly to address issues proactively.

Hi TotalAnonymous,
Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft fabric community forum. Also, a big thanks to Akash_Varuna for the great insights. To expand on this, based on your CU% and performance reports:
- Review the CU% over time graph to pinpoint when usage spikes occur. Identify if high usage comes from interactive queries (red) or background processes (blue).
- If interactive queries dominate, consider optimizing reports that rely on complex calculations.
- Your table shows high CU queries with long durations these might be impacting performance. Focus on queries with negative performance deltas (highlighted in red) and optimize them
- Use the Power BI Capacity Metrics App to track performance trends and identify problem areas. Set up alerts to notify you when CU% is nearing the limit.
