Page narrative with slicersYes, for a page-level narrative, use the Narrative visual with Copilot on the report page.Typical setup:- Add slicers, for example Client, Quarter, Half Year, Year.- Add the visuals that represent the performance analysis.- Add the Narrative visual with Copilot.- Prompt it to summarize the selected client/period/page.The narrative is grounded in the report canvas, so clearly named visuals, fields, axes, and measures are important. Structure the response as an executive summary with bullet points and a conclusion.”
The prompt/instruction is part of the narrative visual setup, so you can design the narrative once and reuse it as users change slicers. I would test the exact refresh behavior in your tenant because AI Narrative auto refresh is a newer feature and may depend on rollout/settings.
5. Enabling Copilot
At a high level, your admin needs to check these:- You need a paid Fabric capacity. However, publishing a fully customized RAG-style chatbot for consulting users typically requires Microsoft Copilot Studio, Azure AI Foundry, or another conversational AI solution integrated with Fabric rather than Power BI alone.
Dynamic narrative or essay-style analysis
Yes, you can use Copilot to generate narrative summaries based on the selected client, time period (quarter, half-year, annual, etc.), and other slicer filters. As the filter context changes and the underlying data is refreshed, the generated narrative reflects the updated context.

1. on the visual, right click and add summary and select copilot?
2. Is the visual smart narrative for page correct?
3. For these "Microsoft Copilot Studio, Azure AI Foundry" i cant integrate in PowerBI and how is this enabled, is it part of azure to enable and work together in fabirc?
4. I dont want to conufuse this with Points 1 "summaries" and 2 "page smart narrative", i want to setup like conculting essays perhaps a tab for Half year, Year and even Qtr that gives me a full consutling analysis that takes into account the full Gold dmart, so eahc tab has a slicer select client and outputs? and how does it output is this also a smart visual but how in essay format - sorry im lost, as this is when gold is updated the essay narrative or is it a different visual or ?

For individual visual explanations, Power BI provides a Copilot visual summary experience for supported visuals. If your goal is to generate executive-style summaries for an entire report page or a collection of visuals, then the Narrative visual with Copilot is the recommended built-in capabilityFor your reporting scenario, I'd recommend using the Narrative visual with Copilot. It can summarize an individual visual, selected visuals, or an entire report page, and custom prompts let you tailor the narrative for executive or consulting-style reporting, and custom prompts let you tailor the narrative for executive or consulting-style reporting. The generated summary is displayed directly within the Narrative visual.
One important point is that the Narrative visual is grounded in the report canvas rather than the entire semantic model. It generates its response from the visuals, measures, and report context available on the page, so including meaningful KPIs, trend charts, and supporting visuals will generally produce more relevant summaries.
For your use case, you could build a report with Client and Period slicers (Quarter, Half-Year, or Year), supporting KPI and trend visuals, and a Narrative visual configured with a custom prompt. The prompt is saved with the visual, allowing users to change slicers while maintaining a consistent reporting experience.
If your long-term goal is to let users ask natural language questions across your Fabric data, then Fabric Data Agent would be the better choice. It provides governed conversational experiences over supported Fabric data sources and integrates with services such as Microsoft Copilot Studio, Azure AI Foundry, and Microsoft Teams. Since you're just getting started with an F2 capacity, I'd recommend exploring the built-in Copilot experiences first before moving to a broader conversational AI solution.
Regarding dynamic updates, Microsoft documentation for the Narrative visual states that users need to refresh the summary visual after updating filters, slicers, or report data to generate an updated summary. Microsoft has also announced AI Narrative Auto Refresh as a newer enhancement, so I would recommend validating the behavior in your own tenant and report configuration before relying on fully automatic narrative regeneration.Finally, an F2 capacity is an important prerequisite, but it doesn't automatically enable every Copilot feature.
