AD Service Groups do not work for Workspace contact list
Hi,
I have a Azure AD that was create when I created a Power BI account with a user and this user is now the administrator of the tenant.
I have create Users and Groups through the Azure AD Portal in the tenant.
I have set "Guest users permissions are limited" to No in External colloberation settings of Azure AD.
I upgraded to a free Power BI Pro license.
Now when I create a new Workspace I can see the user that were created in the Azure AD but I cannot see or use a Group. And I'm not sure why.
I'm pretty sure it is not a setting in the Azure AD tenant because I could see and use the Groups in the Administrator Portal of Power BI > Tenant Settings > Workspace settings > Create workspaces and set the "Specific security groups" I get my groups and can use them.
Any ideas?
Hi ippyvonne ,
Only o365 groups can be added to the contact list of a new workspace.

Hi Liang,
Thank you for this response, indeed with a o365 Group it works.
I'm in contact now with o365 support to turn of the welcome email for the group.
Because the script I found for it online doesn't work for Power BI Tenants because you then do not have a Exchange license to use the "Set-UnifiedGroup $groupName -UnifiedGroupWelcomeMessageEnabled:$false" cmdlet.
