A1 size limitation

Hello

I use A1 capacity, I import 9 small tables (less than 50mo)  and 1 big table (1m rows, 30 columns). I have a limitation size at 1Go when I refresh my dataset.

I would like to know how to avoid this limitation ? Is aggregating my data or direct query the only solution ?

Thank you !

  • Hey freginier ,

You can not avoid the limitations of the A1 capacity. If it's not possible to grow the capacity, you have to adapt all the other things.

This is a combination of import tables and direct query. This article will get you started: User-defined aggregations - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

But please keep in mind that this will help for a period of time unless you make sure that the amount of the source data is not setting the A1 capacity at risk.

Hopefully, this will help to tackle your challenge.

    Regards,

    Tom

  • Hello freginier,

Instead of importing your data into Power BI, consider switching to DirectQuery mode for the large table.  This mode queries the data source directly, so the data is not stored in the Power BI model, helping you stay within the 1 GB limit.

You can use a combination of Import mode for smaller tables and DirectQuery mode for the larger table.

    Hope this helps!
