A specific visual in two published workspaces A & B goes blank after 5 PM MST in workspace A but no

A report built in Power BI desktop and published into workspaces A & B contains a visual that goes blank in only workspace A. The visual works properly in desktop. The visual works properly in workspace B. The reports in workspace A & B are published from the same pbix file. The visual in question pulls its data from a SharePoint hosted excel file. There is no RLS applied.

The visual in question behaved as expected for months. The problem surfaced only after sharing the report with another workspace member of workspace A.

Since it works in  workspace A and but in workspace B, it seems like a workspace A setting/preferences issues. Any suggestions on where to check?

Additional information: a second copy (with a different name) was published to workspace A, has not been shared, and the visual in question does not work.

Hi, @OwenA

Based on my understanding and experience, the report will not display the different data if they are using the same dataset since the data is coming from the same source that stored in the Power BI cloud database, so I think the only reason that leads to the "A specific visual in two published workspaces A & B goes blank after 5 PM MST in workspace A but worked for workspace B" is that they are query data from different dataset, the data refreshed status for the two datasets should be different.

If convenient, I suggest you to use the "Save a copy" feature to copy the report directly from workspace A to B, the report in workspace B will connect to the same dataset as report A, this will help avoid the source data not same issue:

After your copy the report, you can also you the "Report refresh" button to make sure the data displayed is the latest:

@v-yueyunzh-msft , I apologize if I wasn't clear. It's the same visual in both workspace A and workspace B. The reports are identical in all respects save being in different workspaces. That is the only difference. Hence the confusion why the visual which renders correctly in the pbix and one workspace, but it does not in the other.

Hi, @OwenA

According to your description, your two reports are exactly the same, and the difference is only in the workspace, but one of the kinds of visuals fails to load.

There are a few places you can try to check:

(1)The data of your two reports should be from different datasets, you can enter the corresponding dataset, and then click the fields on the right to check whether each field can load and display the data.If you cannot display data, you need to check whether the credentials of the corresponding dataset are configured correctly.

(2)You need to check if the credentials of both datasets are the same, you can try to reconfigure the credentials, and then refresh the dataset.

(3)Check whether the capacity configuration of the workspace is consistent and whether the user's permissions are consistent.

(4)You can try redistributing or distributing other PBIX files to check for the same problem.

Thank you for your time and sharing, and thank you for your support and understanding of PowerBI!
